Until then, there are comedians, and then there are douchebags.  I fall somewhere in between.  Enjoy the show, much love to Nicole McPhee for recording my overacting ass.  If you laugh don't forget to pledge :)

New review from England -- maybe a pic or 3

THE CHRONICLES OF FARO – Chapter 1
Chronicles of Faro“A 84 page graphic novel with 12 pages of bonus material featuring pin up art by Elias Chatzoudis, Monte Michael Moore, and many more!!”
This description from the HooligansCO Kickstarter campaign piqued my interest in August 2013.
The time has come. It’s done and ready for purchase, folks. Instead of the promised 84 pages, the project has become a whopping 100 page extravaganza. Is it worth spending your hard-earned bucks or quid (or whatever currency you use) on? Heck, yes.
Chronicles Of FaroFeaturing famed cover artist FRANCHESCO, acclaimed artist ELIAS CHATZOUDIS (e.g. Grimm Fairy Tales covers), Star Wars, Marvel and DC artist MONTE MOORE (see The Arrival), and mural designer BRANDEN LUKES, FARO truly is a feast for the eyes. It also showcases a large number of other artists. In fact, the entire list of talent included in these pages would send your head spinning. Even though each artist imbues their Act with their unique artwork, there’s cohesion, a particular atmosphere, among the scenes that pulls everything together.
I value art, but I’m looking for more when I read comics and graphic novels. It’s the same thing I’m looking for in novels. I like plot twists, in my writing as much as in my reading. And this story has plenty. The first comes in the first act, when Professor Kane travels back in time to prevent President Lincoln’s assassination. And fails. Big time.
And yet, this is not the end for our main character. He returns as FARO, destined to be an eternal warlord, with an entirely new agenda. The plot quickly becomes a story about love, second chances, the nature of man, and the consequences of one’s actions.
I loved every page. It’s everything I hoped it would be. And more. Literally more. It’s brave, out there, sexy, over-the-top, eye-popping fun.
The Chronicles of Faro comes in three variant covers, with various levels of heat, depending on whether you buy a print copy or a digital copy. I’m so glad Kickstarter gave me the chance to support its creation.

Never enough reviews as you build up the empire, here's another from the UK

Review from Steve Grubb
I've read the book twice now and thought I'd let you know what I thought. First off, I am no graphic novel aficionado - I have a fair few of them, but would not think of myself as an authority on them.
I loved the art of the story, especially the Prequel, Act 1, 2 & Aftermath. The black and white section worked well too.

The story, I felt, was a bit rushed. The laying out of the time travel element of Act 1 could easily have been half a full length book without losing any pace. It would have given the characters room to breath and become fully formed, before the centre piece of the story. it's a minor gripe in an otherwise cracking read.

Already looking forward to Chapter 2.

Letters to the Author : Praise & Critiques -- HARTFORD COMIC CON PICS

As Faro begins finding it's way into reading lists, it's always nice to revel in all good reviews and subsequent adventures as we continue to push our brand everywhere, even on unsuspected storefronts.

My illustrious business partner, the aforementioned Scotty Boom, once told me that the one disadvantage I would have putting out a story so wild would be not having the ability to access the strange and unusual mind of the writer to each and every reader.  But I digress, with the wonders of today's technology I believe one can access every reader, especially when one isn't hard to find.  So here on this blog, we shall publish all praise, all love, all hate, all death threats, all love letters and personal trinkets (hopefully) and any and all that comes across our virtual mailbox.  Here's some delights and diatribes from our growing list of readers spliced in with pics from my recent trip to Hartford Comic Con taking care of the amazing Spartacus crew.

A review from Theresa R Fordyce
With my future Faro & Majesty, Anna Hutchinson and Liam McIntyre.
"When looking at this project I thought the concept of someone from future trying to prevent Lincoln from being shot was different. I like the colors, the drawings, and details. Act 2 and 3 started a little rough but was better. The last 5 pages left me wanting more. Can't wait for chapter 2!"

A review from Eron Lange

"I have read the first three acts and intermission. So far I absolutely love it. The story line is very compelling and the artwork is incredible. I am very much looking forward to future chapters.

  • Review from William Gunderson
  • "I found the art to be bright and very detailed. The story was a little convoluted
at times, understandable in a story concerning time travel but it did leave me wanting for more detail over some of the past/future of Faro's/Majesty's life.  I'm hoping as the story progresses more of those details will be revealed as his memory becomes more whole.

  • Dear William,
Every bit of feedback helps, and I'm glad you said you're interested in learning more
What I want you to consider is that Professor Kane travels back in time and lands with 5 minutes to save Lincoln, basically he blows it. gets tossed in a asylum while Lincoln still dies.
While rotting away, he is rescued by a statuesque blonde, who may or may not be the Devil, who takes him back to the beginning of time, nurses him back to health, and watches him grow into a warlord.
Their kingdom is so powerful the only thing that can crush them is the Wrath of God
Suddenly you wake up after crashing back to Earth, now instead of being 40 you're 20 and instead of 5 minutes, u now have 5 years
Our message.............................................God gives Faro a second chance
But Majesty thinks its another shot for them to take over in the modern world
But what if Majesty is a liar, and none of this actually happened, yet, remember the one weakness Faro has is that it all plays out of order
If I don't sell the love story then there is no story,
    Get what I'm getting at
Majesty and her circle have plans to mess with the fabric of time, no matter what the consequences, so Faro provides the one thing they don' factor in.......the desire to be a hero
The one thing God puts back into him
So you see William, this isnt a time travel story, its a story of desire and redemption
Thanks again for your feedback, I hope some of my babble clarified some of the situation
Look forward to seeing you for Chapter 2
